Panevėžys city welcomes tourists interactively
18.08.2021
At the request of the Panevėžys city municipality, Hansab has developed an innovative solution for introducing city guests to the attractions in the city. We have set up an interactive information terminal, through which guests of the city can get acquainted with places of interest and history, see their photos, read descriptions and get directions on their mobile phones on how to reach their destination.
Convenient way to plan a route
The fifth-largest city in Lithuania has more than 50 attractions. To give a better overview of what’s available, we have installed an interactive information terminal with a 55-inch vertical screen at Panevėžys bus station.
It allows you to select the language, the navigation mode (simple or visually impaired), access information about places of interest, their history, photos, and get a detailed route. For the convenience of city guests, a QR code has been installed, which provides a Google Maps link to a specific object with an arrival route, a description of the place, and an interactive map with an audio guide to the selected route.
The needs of the visually impaired have also been taken into account
Hansab is also interested in social integration, therefore the functionality of the terminal was created in consultation with the Lithuanian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired. In close cooperation with the representatives of the union and following their targeted advice, a convenient function has been introduced: in the first information window, tourists can choose a browsing mode adapted for visually impaired city guests.
