Konica Minolta Acquires the Majority Stake in MOBOTIX, Setting the Foundation for Future Growth

Konica Minolta Inc. Tokio, Japan, has signed an agreement for the purchase and transfer of approximately 65% of the shares of MOBOTIX AG, Hansab’s partner and a long-term supplier, from the major share holders. Dr. Ralf Hinkel has informed the company that he will stay in the supervisory board and will continue the strategic development of MOBOTIX.

MOBOTIX will continue business with the same brand name and their goal is to drive future growth leveraging pioneering technologies of both companies. In cooperation with Konica Minolta, MOBOTIX will further improve their camera technology and develop new intelligent solutions for specific vertical markets.

MOBOTIX is a software company with own IP camera products, all made in Germany. In 2005, MOBOTIX launched its first professional video management system which is still being used in thousands of installations around the globe.

Konica Minolta is a technology company with offices in 49 countries worldwide. The company manufactures business and industrial imaging products, including copiers, laser printers, multi-functional peripherals (MFPs) and digital print systems for the production printing market. The company also makes optical devices, including lenses and LCD film; medical and graphic imaging products, photometers, 3-D digitizers, and other sensing products; and textile printers.
