Tallinn University
Tallinn, Estonia
Hansab installed the new library system in Tallinn University Academic library. This is the first UHF (Ultra High Frequency) -based library system in Estonia and the Baltics.
There are many libraries in Europe that have adopted the RFID system solution for the security of lending out books. Worldwide, the 860-960 MHz UHF RFID reader systems service only a small number of libraries. The advantage of the system is that it is possible to extend and complement the various components. The system allows adding self-service solutions that makes returning of books available 24h. Book shelves can be integrated with information
systems guides to help find books quickly. The system can be expanded with automatic book sorting and transportation systems.
RFID (Radio-frequency identification) allows visitors to borrow, return and renew their publications themselves. Additionally, the system also acts as a security feature. The system is designed especially for the convenience of readers and fast service, giving the library staff more time to advise readers.
