The first self-service terminal for experience gifting
11.01.2022
Together with Emoti Group we created and installed the first gift self-service terminal in Finland. The terminal doesn’t only optimize the sales process but also creates the gift voucher itself.
The principle of its operation is quite simple - after selecting the desired gift on the screen, the terminal prints a gift voucher on stylized paper.
The terminal also gives a gift box to the buyer, so there is no need to worry about coupon packaging. The gift is presented to the buyer fully ready.
Currently, Emoti Group operates under the brands Laisvalaikio dovanos and NoriuNoriuNoriu.lt in 5 countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, and Poland.
Process optimization
The need for an automated terminal arose to reduce business costs. Maintaining sales islands and staff is quite expensive, so the Emoti Group has been looking for ways to reduce costs while ensuring product and service quality.
After replacing the sales island with a self-service terminal, the customer has a sales channel that operates 24/7 and gives the customer the opportunity to choose from all the services provided. For the maintenance of the terminal, it is enough to have staff supervising it, who would regularly fill the terminal with boxes and stylized paper for printing gift vouchers.
Technical characteristics
The main challenge of this project was the mechanism for issuing special feature boxes. This project required a special box dispenser to hold at least 100 boxes and be compact. Similar devices on the market typically use spiral mechanisms that matched neither their space nor capacity, so we designed and manufactured a unique mechanism. One of the main advantages of the terminal compared to traditional islands, which sell similar products already packaged, is that the range of services can be updated, supplemented, adapted for special promotions or marketing campaigns at any time during the holiday season remotely.
“The gift voucher self-service terminal has been designed specifically for the needs of the Emoti Group, the process of starting from scratch is always longer, and the pandemic provided additional challenges in the supply of materials. We are glad that Emoti Group trusted us and allowed us to fulfill their desire to create a unique solution in the market” comments Mantas Budraitis, Project Manager of UAB Hansab.
Mutual benefit
“We wanted a terminal that does not only sell existing goods, as we are used to seeing but is able to create a new product, that is, print the selected gift voucher. After a trial period of several months, we can safely say that we have the best solution for our product” says Aurimas Mažylis, Head of Emoti Group
UAB Emoti Group is the first pilot leisure gift terminal that automates the sales process and enables the business to expand more efficiently by creating a network of automated terminals, as it saves the costs of maintaining islands and employees.
For us, this is the first self-service device of its kind that not only sells but also creates a complete product for sale. We are delighted that a successful launch with a unique solution is giving the green light to be competitive in the self-service terminal market.
